In summary, InterApp butterfly valves are a popular choice for a wide range of applications due to their compact and lightweight design, high flow capacity, low cost and maintenance, and the wide variety of actuators available.
TYPES OF VALVES MANUFACTURED BY INTERAPP
Butterfly Valves
a) Butterfly valves type “WAFER”:
These are compact, lightweight butterfly valves that are installed between two flanges, using bolts that pass through the valve body.
This design allows for easy installation and maintenance, since it does not require disassembling the entire piping.
They are used to regulate the flow of liquids or gases in pipelines and can be operated manually or with an actuator.
Their lightweight construction reduces the load on pipelines, which is crucial in systems with weight or space limitations.
b) “LUG” type butterfly valves:
These are butterfly valves that offer a more robust and durable solution.
These valves feature lugs that allow them to be attached directly to the pipe flanges, providing a more secure and stable connection.

Steam traps are elements whose mission is to discharge the condensate avoiding steam leaks. The elimination of condensate and air from the installation is essential, returning the condensate to the boiler room maximizes the use of energy. Like any mechanical element, steam traps require periodic maintenance and revision.
There are three types of steam traps:
1 Thermodynamic
2 Mechanical
3 Thermostatic
Energy savings can be achieved with a steam trap revision where the steam traps will be checked, attaching a list and indicating the operation of each of the traps checked, in addition to an economic study aimed at minimizing the steam losses detected. From Tecnofluid and in collaboration with Spirax Sarco, we carry out this maintenance and revision service, using ultrasound technology, saving time and energy.
At the end of the revision we will present you a report detailing all those traps that are not working properly and possible causes of this, as well as the following data:
List of plant traps
Energy losses per trap
Maintenance tips
The advantages of performing this service are:
1 Energy savings, reducing Co2 emissions.
2 Saving of water and chemical treatments of this one.
3 Increased productivity (less downtime).
As a significant fact:
From Tecnofluid we coordinate with your maintenance team to schedule the revision and maintenance of your steam traps. Contact our technical advisors and we will be happy to provide you with more information about this service: (+34) 936 558 272.
In Tecnofluid we provide BOYSER peristaltic pumps. In this article we will discuss the advantages of this kind of pumps vs other pumps in the industrial sector and what is the technology of an industrial peristaltic pump.
A peristaltic pump is a type of positive displacement hydraulic pump used to pump a wide variety of fluids. The fluid is contained within a flexible tube located inside a circular pump casing. A rotor with two ‘rollers’ or ‘shoes’ along with the outer circumference compresses the flexible tube. As the rotor rotates, the part of the tube under compression closes, thus forcing the fluid to move through the tube. As the tube returns to its natural shape after the passage of the roller or shoe, the fluid is sucked through the pump inlet.
BOYSER is a family company, a Spanish manufacturer of peristaltic pumps for more than 30 years and currently part of the Prominent Group. Boyser exports its equipment all over the world and has Tecnofluid as its authorized distributor to serve the Catalan market.
Types of peristaltic pumps (features and advantages)
A. Peristaltic pumps with rollers
The compression of the hose is made with rollers.
Working pressure up to 8 bar.
No lubricating liquid.
Lower energy consumption (up to 30% less than shoe pumps).
Perfect for low pressures (< 4 bar).
Easy hose replacement.
B. Peristaltic pumps with shoes
The compression of the hose is made with shoes.
Working pressure up to 15 bar.
With lubricating liquid.
The surface in contact with the hose is larger.
The hose can be highly compressed by means of a more progressive deformation of the hose, causing less stress than with rollers.
Suitable for medium and high pressures (4-15 bar).
Fields of application of peristaltic pumps:
A. WATER TREATMENT
Sludge and slurry
Lime slurry

A control valve or regulating valve is a valve used to control the flow of a fluid , directed by a signal from a controller . Allowing the flow control and the consequent control of the process variables such as: pressure , temperature and level.
The control valve assembly is made up of 3 main components:
Valve
Actuator
Positioner
2 way globe valves are the most widely used in steam control, as they are linear displacement valves that “throttle” the flow that passes through them.
The opening or closing of automatic control valves is normally done by electric , hydraulic , or pneumatic actuators . Typically, with a modulating valve, which can be set to any position between fully open and fully closed, valve positioners are used to ensure that the valve reaches the desired degree of opening.
The operation of a control valve means the positioning of its moving part (obturator) in relation to the fixed seat.
The most used actuators can be:
Electrical
Tires
The positioner is mounted on the valve attached to its stem to locate and detect the position of the valve. It relates the input signal to the valve stroke and converts the electrical signal from the control into a pneumatic signal to actuate the actuator.
Key aspects in the selection of a control valve
Mass or volumetric steam flow (maximum, normal and/or minimum)
Fluid, steam type
Upstream pressure available
Downstream pressure at maximum, normal and minimum loads
Kv value required. When we talk about the Kv of the valve we are not referring to the flow rate coefficient or the relationship between the valve stroke and the flow rate under constant pressure conditions. The stroke is the position of the plug with respect to the closure and the area of passage through the orifice refers to the “valve throat” through which the fluid passes
Valve Body Size and Connections Required
Material and minimum pressure (PN)
Maximum differential pressure for closure
Special requirements (stuffing box, soft seat, hardened plug, etc …)
Control requirements (all-nothing, continuous, etc …)
Drive type (pneumatic, electric, electro-pneumatic)
Noise levels (Deterioration)
Sealing and airtightness
Range (ratio between maximum and minimum flow rate)
Price
Valve nominal diameter and Kvs
Tightness of control valves

Electromagnetic flowmeters measure the flow rate as a function of the velocity at which the fluid passes. The equipment has two coils that apply a magnetic field perpendicular to the direction of the liquid, which produces an electrical voltage picked up by electrodes as it passes through. This voltage is proportional to the velocity, and therefore to the flow rate of the liquid.
The principle of operation is based on Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction. When an electrically conductive liquid flows through a non-conductive pipe and passes through a magnetic field, it generates a voltage (E) which depends on the following equation:
E = k · B · I · v
The electrode voltage (E), proportional to the velocity or flow rate of the liquid. The magnetic field (B), generated by two copper coils. It has a constant current. The length of the conductor (l), is the distance between measuring electrodes or internal diameter of the measuring tube. It is a constant value. The only variable in the Faraday equation (v) is the liquid velocity.
These devices are designed for wastewater applications, or in general for any dirty water or water-based conductive liquid. They can also handle any conductive liquid (acids, bases, slurries…).
Yokogawa’s experience in the manufacture of this equipment dates back to 1955, which allows them to offer the market electromagnetic flowmeters with flexible configurations for industrial use in most areas, a high degree of precision, stability, accuracy and minimum response times that provide a reliable measurement.
